Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TroubleAtlas (troubleatlas.com) collects, uses and protects personal data. The data controller is Custode Living S.S., VAT No. 01446800326 ("TroubleAtlas", "we", "us"). We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Italian law.
1. Data we collect
- Information you provide — e.g. when you contact us, or register for a professional account or subscription (such as name, email, business details and account preferences).
- Technical data collected automatically — e.g. IP address, browser and device type, referring page and pages visited, via server logs and analytics.
- Approximate location — we determine your country from your IP address (server-side) in order to show locally relevant offers, currencies and partners. We use the IP address for this lookup at request time and do not build location profiles from it.
- Affiliate click data — when you click an outbound affiliate link, we log the click in an anonymised form (e.g. offer identifier, timestamp, country) to measure performance. These logs are not used to identify you personally.
2. How we use your data
We use personal data to: operate, maintain and improve the site and its content; show locally relevant product offers and partners; measure traffic and the performance of affiliate links; provide and administer professional accounts and subscriptions; respond to your enquiries; ensure security and prevent abuse; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
We rely on: your consent (e.g. non-essential cookies); the performance of a contract (e.g. professional subscriptions); our legitimate interests (e.g. site security, aggregate analytics, measuring affiliate performance); and legal obligations (e.g. accounting).
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies needed for the site to function, and — subject to your consent where required — analytics and advertising/affiliate cookies. Third-party partners (including analytics, advertising and affiliate networks) may set their own cookies when you interact with their content or links; their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and any cookie-preferences tool provided on the site.
5. Advertising and affiliate partners
TroubleAtlas is financed in part by affiliate links and, where applicable, third-party advertising. Affiliate networks and merchants may receive the fact that a referral originated from TroubleAtlas (e.g. via a tracking identifier) so that any commission can be attributed. We design our outbound links to avoid disclosing more personal data than necessary.
6. Data sharing
We share personal data only with: service providers acting on our behalf (e.g. hosting, analytics) under appropriate agreements; affiliate and advertising partners as described above; and authorities where required by law. Some partners may process data outside the EU/EEA; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses).
7. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, or as required by law. Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months; anonymised affiliate-click logs are retained for performance reporting; professional-account data is kept for the duration of the account and any legally required period thereafter.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). To exercise your rights, contact us using the details below.
9. Children
The site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
