Loss of flame rectification
The 43 error code on Alpha boilers indicates loss of flame rectification.
Alpha 43 means: loss of flame rectification. The usual causes are no gas reaching the burner, or the gas supply is shut off, ignition or detection electrode dirty, worn or out of position or flue or air intake blocked or restricted. You can safely reset the boiler once — if 43 returns, do not keep resetting. A qualified heating engineer should diagnose the root cause.
What Does 43 Mean
The 43 code is shown by the boiler’s control board when it detects loss of flame rectification. The boiler then stops instead of continuing to run in that condition: the code is the appliance reporting a problem, not proof that the boiler is broken.

Common Causes
Causes documented in the Alpha service literature published by boilerfaultfinder.com, cross-checked against the manufacturer’s fault-code table.
Cause

No gas reaching the burner, or the gas supply is shut off
Ignition or detection electrode dirty, worn or out of position
Flue or air intake blocked or restricted
Faulty gas valve, or its wiring and connector
Fan blocked, worn or its speed signal wrong
Safety Warning
43 involves electrical or pressure-related components. Do not attempt repairs without proper qualifications. Ensure the boiler is electrically isolated before any inspection. If you notice water leaks, unusual sounds, or pressure anomalies, contact a qualified heating engineer immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions
Check gas supply/working pressure. According to the technical documentation, this is the first check on the list for 43.
43 is not classified as a high-severity fault, so the boiler can be reset once. If 43 comes back, stop resetting: the underlying cause is still there and needs a qualified heating engineer.
